The intensity of my Monday workout puts Joe's workout to shame.
I did 2 miles yesterday on the treadmill. It took me about 23:00 minutes which is pretty pathetic, but I did mix in a little walking, so I didn't actually run the whole 2 miles. Most of my body is adjusting pretty well to the return to physical activity, but I do have some concerns about my shins. I had a little pain there yesterday, (nothing major). I have to make sure they don't become a problem, as I can't afford to miss time for it.
Nice work! Interval training is the quickest, most efficient way to get back in shape and see gains - so a bit of walking mixed in is an added benefit!
ReplyDeleteI'll also take this moment to stress the importance of shoes. It's the only form of injury prevention that runners have so it is paramount to keep an eye on them to help prevent shin splints, blisters, etc. If you think you need new shoes - you probably do.
My shoes are actually new so i just think its the combination of my weight and re-adjusting to absorbing some shock
